Peter J. Berry

A native of Waterbury, Connecticut, Peter received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Central Connecticut State University and earned a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. In the mid-1980s Peter and his wife Suzanne founded Association Resources, Inc., an association management firm. Peter served as the firm’s President and the company eventually became the headquarters for over 20 international, national, and state associations. At its peak, Association Resources had 60 staff members in Hartford, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Brussels, Belgium.  

As an association executive himself, Peter served for many years as the Executive Director for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, and for the International League Against Epilepsy. Peter began his association management career when he was appointed the first Executive Director of the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association.  

Peter has been a volunteer in his professional associations, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA). Peter recently completed his term as Chair of the ASAE International Section Council. He is a Past President of the Connecticut Society of Association Executives and the Connecticut Convention and Sports Bureau. 

Peter served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut State University system for ten years. He also served two years as a member of the Connecticut Board of Higher Education, a position he attained through election by the state university trustees. Peter served as Past President of the Central Connecticut State University Alumni Association and the Kingwoods-Oxford School Parents Association.

Peter was an elected delegate from Connecticut to the White House Conference on Small Business and served on the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) Small Business Advisory Committee for many years. 

After selling Association Resources, Peter and his wife Suzanne moved to Florida in 2012, and founded Berry² & Associates, LLC. The firm provides services in meeting management, destination marketing, government relations, and interim CEO assignments. 

In Naples, Peter has served as a volunteer at Audubon Country Club on the Finance and Articles, Bylaws, and Rules Committees. He was recently accepted into the Greater Naples Leadership Program, Class XXIV. Peter and Suzanne have two grown children who are principals at Energy Related Properties, a commercial real estate firm based in Midland, Texas.
