Goodwill MicroEnterprise Program Celebrates Graduation at United Way of Collier County

United Way of Collier County congratulates the graduates of Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc.’s small business training class, which was held at the United Way headquarters in Naples. The course, presented by Goodwill’s SWFL MicroEnterprise Institute, is one of the first partnerships between Goodwill and the United Way of Collier County.  Goodwill will become a United Way of Collier County partner agency in 2015.

The Goodwill Southwest Florida MicroEnterprise Institute is a training program to help emerging entrepreneurs start new ventures and grow small businesses. The program is designed to assist people who are unemployed, underemployed, or who meet low income guidelines. Graduates complete a business and management training course and work with mentors who are successful businesspersons. After completing the course, eligible participants may apply for a microloan collateral guarantee from Goodwill.

United Way of Collier County President and CEO Steve Sanderson noted that “We are proud to partner with Goodwill to help provide more opportunities for individuals in our community to start businesses. Successful small businesses are critical to the overall economic health and prosperity of our community.”
